Ergonomics in production
Sit well – work better

Requirements
Special work processes in production
Concentrated, fine-motor tasks, activities requiring force, sweeping movements – the demands placed on employees in production are as varied as the industries in which they work, from the automotive industry to mechanical engineering and textile production.
Bimos' decades of experience with the special work processes in production are reflected in chairs with optimal ergonomics, which have been developed in close cooperation with occupational health practitioners and experts from the field.
Opportunities
Ergonomics benefits employees
An ergonomic chair increases productivity
If workplace chairs at production workstations are ergonomic, the employee's body is relieved of strain and energy can be fully focused on the tasks at hand.
In addition, an ergonomic chair supports necessary movements thanks to the appropriate settings. The effort required is drastically reduced and more can be achieved in less time; employees tire more slowly, work with greater concentration and make fewer mistakes.
An ergonomic chair increases well-being and motivation
An ergonomic chair is a comfortable chair, which provides optimal support for the body and allows moments of relaxation. This is particularly important in a workplace where you have to perform the same movements and adopt complex postures for hours on end. A good workplace chair therefore helps to avoid forced postures caused by work tasks.
It is therefore especially important in production to offer employees as great a sense of well-being as possible by providing them with an ergonomic chair. After all, people who are physically well are more motivated to work.
Physical effects
Health can be fostered
Ergonomic sitting can foster health. If you sit awkwardly, you need more energy to move, your muscles tire and stiffen, your neck and back start to ache, and it all results in forced postures. Continuous strain can damage the intervertebral discs, making them a weak point for future work.
Incorrect posture of the legs or torso can also cause discomfort. Digestive disorders or impaired blood circulation lead to premature signs of fatigue. If the chair fails to provide support, this leads to compensatory postures, which cost a lot of energy and in turn lead to forced postures. An incorrect choice of chair therefore not only reduces work efficiency, but has also been proven to result in increased absences in production due to illness.
