Workspace design with Bimos

Swivel chairs, high chairs, with or without a backrest – we have a solution for every workplace situation

Workplaces in industry are varied. One employee has to regularly stand up to do his job, the next sits at a high table while doing so, the third works leaning forward and the fourth shares a chair with other shift workers. The situations vary as greatly as the branches of industry. That is why the choice of chairs and their equipment is particularly important in workplace and workstation design. All Bimos chairs are certified with the GS mark by TÜV-Rheinland and comply with DIN 68877-1 and 2, which specifies dimensions and safety measures.

Suitable chairs for high workplaces

A low chair is not enough for high workplaces. Therefore, at Bimos, all workplace chairs are also available as a high version as a matter of course. All high versions are equipped according to DIN 68877-1 as standard.

We are happy to advise you, also via video, on how to determine the correct seat height for your workstation and what optimal workspace design looks like in your company.

Safety

Equipping high and low workplace chairs safely

All Bimos high workplace chairs are equipped with glides instead of castors, in accordance with DIN standard 68 877-1, to prevent them from unexpectedly rolling away when sitting down or when working under force. However, if the chair needs to be moved more frequently, Stop & Go castors are an option.

With low chairs, on the other hand, it depends on the taskFor work requiring a lot of force, the chair must provide a firm hold and not roll backwards, therefore glides are a suitable choice for such work. To ensure flexibility and mobility at the workplace, castors are the best choice.

Gliders

Our glides are made of robust, abrasion-resistant plastic. They have a large surface area and a flat design to guarantee a high degree of stability and minimise the risk of tripping. They are standard for high chairs.

Stop & Go castors

As an alternative to the glides, high chairs can be fitted with Stop & Go castors. The castors lock in position under the weight of a person and thus provide a firm hold. At the same time, the chair retains its manoeuvrability.

Castors

Castors are always suitable if a chair does not always stay in the same place. Chairs with castors should be used especially for tasks where firm support is less important than mobility.

The rolling performance is significantly influenced by the nature of the floor. It is therefore essential to match the castors to the floor in question and therefore the following appliesSoft castors for hard floors such as stone floors or PVC and hard castors for soft floors such as carpet. Bimos chairs are fitted with soft castors as standard.

Mounting aids

In accordance with DIN standard 68 877-1, all chairs with a seat height of 650 mm or more are equipped with a mounting aid to enable employees to get on and off safely. Furthermore, additional footrests can be set up, which enable an ergonomically ideal sitting posture on high chairs.

Equipment

Extended reach range and flexible range of movement

In production, there are many different areas that employees must be able to reach or move around while carrying out their task. Not only directly in front of them, but also to the side of the seat there may be open fronted storage bins, storage racks or machine control units. Swivel chairs with tapered backrests allow a person to reach easily to the right, left and even backwards and to be ergonomically supported in all movements.

Castors are key to flexibility in assembly and the workshop. In combination with the swivel function of our chairs, the range of movement expands considerably. At the same time, as load-dependent braked safety double castors, they always provide sufficient safety.
