Cleanroom suitability

Developed and tested for cleanrooms

The suitability of the CLEANROOM BASIC is proven by its certified cleanroom qualification. Its sophisticated concept carries the internationally renowned “Tested Device” mark from the Fraunhofer Institute and meets all requirements for high particle emission safety. The CLEANROOM BASIC is suitable for use in air cleanliness class 3 according to DIN EN ISO 14644-1, air cleanliness class 1 according to US Fed Standards 209E and according to the EU GMP guidelines. In addition, it provides reliable protection against electrostatic charge in accordance with EN 61340-5-1.

Cover materials

Soft, hygienic artificial leather

Artificial leather is the recommended upholstery for the cleanroom – resistant to disinfectants, soft and ESD-compliant. Bimos artificial leather is PVC-free and contains no plasticisers that could be released by UV light or disinfectants. It still remains soft for years without any cracks forming in the surface. It is also free from harmful phthalates, making it harmless to employees and the environment. The material is fire safety tested to DIN EN 1021-1 and -2 and is particularly suitable for cleanrooms with combustible chemicals. It is also a source of pride for us that the artificial leather bears the Oeko-Tex label for special environmental friendliness and sustainability.

Its resistance to disinfectants is important, as the material suffers no damage which could otherwise potentially release particles. We have therefore had its resistance tested and Bimos synthetic leather has been awarded the OETIS certificate and is resistant to all commercially available disinfectants.

Cleanroom properties

Cleanroom-compatible chair design

The materials and workmanship of a cleanroom chair must have certain properties to qualify for the cleanroom. With the CLEANROOM BASIC , we have not only realised these properties, but also tested them in everyday work.

Moulding

Smooth and closed surfaces on the seat and backrest not only prevent the deposit of particles, but also turbulence from the permanent air flow from the filter system.

Upholstery and finish

The upholstery and upholstery supports of the CLEANROOM BASIC are joined together using back-foaming technology, which reliably prevents particle emissions.

Dissipative materials

The materials of the CLEANROOM BASIC consist of polished and abrasion-resistant aluminium for the base, strong plastic for the frame and castors, and hygienic synthetic leather for the upholstery. They are electrostatically dissipative in accordance with the EN 61340-5-1 standard and offer reliable protection against charges.

Ergonomics in the cleanroom

Basic adjustments for a healthy back

The ergonomics of the CLEANROOM BASIC reduce physical strain and fatigue in the cleanroom by supporting a natural posture and promoting freedom of movement through the adjustment options. Thanks to the comfortable and secure sitting position, employees sit better with the Basic even during longer working hours and are more efficient and productive.

The right decision

Basically always right – the CLEANROOM BASIC

Good seating quality

The ergonomics package, the different Basic variants, the optional equipment features – all this makes the CLEANROOM BASIC an excellent candidate for comfortable and healthy sitting in the cleanroom. The benefits are considerable: Fewer sick days, higher employee motivation, lower error rates. With Bimos, you can count on greater success in all areas.

High cleanroom quality

In addition to a high level of comfort, the CLEANROOM BASIC offers absolute safety when it comes to cleanroom qualification. Co-developed and tested by the Fraunhofer Institute, it fulfils all cleanroom requirements. Absolutely clean and sterile results are proof of the high quality that the Basic ensures – as well as a reduced error rate and fewer returns.

Better environmental friendliness

Bimos is EMAS certified. This means that we attach great importance to environmentally friendly and sustainable production for all our chairs. Right from the development stage, we pay attention to the use of recyclable materials, few composite materials and eventual complete recyclability. However, our most important goal is to ensure that your chair is as durable as possible and ideally only needs to be replaced after decades have passed.
